Rice irrigation is in full swing this time of the year. Arkansas is the nation's leading Rice production state growing almost 50% of the nation's rice acreage with 1.4 million acres.
Rice is grown in 40 of the state's 75 counties, primarily in the eastern half of Arkansas. Counties in northeastern Arkansas account for the majority of production, with Poinsett, Jackson and Lawrence counties leading production.
Farmers Oil Corp is helping in this process by providing the fuel that runs those irrigation engines.
